У статті проаналізовано різновекторну діяльність П. Житецького у складі Київської громади в 60-х роках ХІХ ст.
Як один із співзасновників і найактивніших членів Київської громади, П. Житецький брав активну участь у всіх її основних заходах, що були спрямовані на підтримку української культури та поширення освіти серед широких мас українського населення, на здобуття національних прав українців. As one of the co-founders and most active members of the Kyiv community P. Zhytetskyi took an active part in all its main activities, which were aimed at supporting Ukrainian culture and developing education among the broad masses of the Ukrainian population, and at obtaining national rights for Ukrainians.
